‘Giving Rs 15 crore advance’, Sanjay Raut also hinted at breaking up of MPs?

After the split in Trinamool Congress, the next name in discussion is Shiv Sena (Uddhav Bala Saheb Thackeray). Till a day ago, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut was claiming that none of his MPs was going anywhere. The same Sanjay Raut has now said that Rs 15-15 crore is being given in advance to buy his MPs. On the other hand, all the leaders of Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena are saying that the leaders who change sides will be welcomed. There is talk of 6 or 7 out of 9 Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs joining Shiv Sena and now after Sanjay Raut’s statement, the murmur has intensified. Not only this, Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant has written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and appealed to him that no recognition should be given to those who form such a group.

Earlier, speculations about a possible rebellion by Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs intensified after Shiv Sena leader Pratap Sarnaik indicated that rebel MPs would be welcomed and given priority if they switched sides. Meanwhile, discussions started when Sanjay Raut reached Delhi. This led to speculation that he may meet Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to stop any possible attempt by several party MPs to form a separate group.

Sanjay Raut’s tweet created a stir

In a late night post on social media platform ‘X’, Sanjay Raut said, ‘Apna Sapna Money…Money! It is reported that an advance amount of Rs 15 crore will be given tonight to buy the MPs of Maharashtra. Let us tell you that Shiv Sena (UBT) has a total of 9 Lok Sabha MPs and if 6 or more MPs change sides then they can also give the argument of two-thirds.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik gave a kind of invitation to the rebel MPs through gestures. He said, ‘If public representatives like MPs and MLAs do not have confidence in their leadership. If they believe in the ideals of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray and are ready to trust the leadership of Eknath Shinde, then Shiv Sena’s doors are open for them. If they ever think so in future, we will give them priority. His comments came a day after Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Deshmukh met Union Minister and Shiv Sena leader Prataprao Jadhav in Delhi.

Many types of questions started arising on this. On Monday, he met Prataprao Jadhav, which intensified speculations about his switching sides. The possibilities of switching sides were further strengthened after only four out of nine Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs attended the meeting in person. On this, Sanjay Raut had claimed that five other MPs had attended the meeting through digital medium and over the phone. On Tuesday, Sanjay Raut said that a wrong picture was being presented and asserted that all the MPs are firmly with the party and Uddhav Thackeray.

Sanjay Raut said that his party has a 60-year-old heritage and has a history of agitating on different issues.

‘The party will continue’

He said, ‘We have seen many ups and downs in the past but our party is a worker-based party. MLAs and MPs come and go but the party remains. When our day comes, we will show how the party is broken. At the same time, there is talk that out of 9 Lok Sabha MPs of Shiv Sena (UBT), six to seven MPs are willing to join the ruling Shiv Sena and are currently camping in the national capital.
