Controversy broke out in IPL over ‘Oye Darkness’ comment, did Arshdeep-Tilak’s relationship deteriorate after that? PBKS player revealed the secret

A video that surfaced before the match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians during IPL 2026 had created a big controversy on social media. In the video, Punjab Kings star fast bowler Arshdeep Singh was heard calling Mumbai Indians batsman Tilak Verma ‘Oye Andhera’. As soon as the video went viral, a debate broke out on social media and many users started criticizing Arshdeep, terming this comment as a racial comment.

After this controversy, many discussions started taking place regarding Arshdeep Singh. Even such reports came out that the Indian Cricket Board has advised him to stop vlogging activities. However, no official statement was issued in this regard. Now Punjab Kings wicketkeeper batsman Prabhsimran Singh has given his reaction on this entire matter.

What did Prabhasimran say on Tilak-Arshdeep?

Prabhsimran Singh, while talking to InsideSport, said an important thing about the relationship between Arshdeep and Tilak Verma. He clarified that there is a very good friendship between the two players and people are unnecessarily exaggerating the matter. He said, “Arshdeep Singh and Tilak Verma are very good friends. They can do anything with each other. It also depends on us how we take personal matters. Both of them have played a lot of cricket together, so people should leave this matter to them.”

Did the controversy affect Arshdeep?

Prabhsimran Singh also said that the criticism on social media has had no effect on Arshdeep Singh’s mental balance or game. He told, “No (Arshdeep was not impressed). The quality of his character is that he remains the same in both ups and downs. Everyone knows how hard-working he is. Now, it would be wrong to judge his cricket performance on the basis of incidents in his personal life.”

The post was removed from Instagram

Amidst the controversy, Arshdeep Singh came into limelight for another reason. The Indian fast bowler suddenly removed a large number of posts and reels from his Instagram account, after which various kinds of speculations started on social media. According to reports, Arshdeep removed around 200 posts and reels from his account, after which only 44 posts started appearing on his profile.

The content removed from Arshdeep’s Instagram profile also included many popular and viral posts. These included his famous reel made with Virat Kohli during the celebration of India’s Champions Trophy 2025 win, which was greatly liked by the cricket fans.
