US-Iran Deal: Kuwait welcomed the agreement to end the war between America and Iran, to be signed in Geneva on June 19
Kuwait’s cabinet has welcomed an agreement between the US and Iran to end the war. The government hopes that this decision will bring long-term peace and stability to the entire area. This discussion was done in the weekly cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

The meeting was chaired by Acting Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah. This agreement will be formally signed on Friday, June 19, 2026 in the city of Geneva, Switzerland. Earlier on June 15, Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry had also welcomed this agreement.
Necessary conditions for peace
Kuwait’s cabinet said that this deal will provide a permanent solution to the remaining disputes between the two countries. The government has emphasized certain key areas for regional security, including:
- To respect each other and not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.
- Do not use force or power under any circumstances.
- Live like a good neighbor and increase trust.
- Stopping support for proxy activities in other countries.
The Cabinet expressed hope that this deal will immediately stop military operations on all fronts and the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz will become safe. Kuwait has supported resolving disputes through negotiations in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.
