‘The youth of the country knows how to take their rights’, Rahul Gandhi lashed out at the government on Telegram ban.

Rae Bareli MP and leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi criticized the temporary ban on Telegram. He says that this decision of the government will only harm the students. The question asked is how will this stop paper leaks? Rahul Gandhi said that this is not a foolproof system. Every student of the country and the paper leak mafia also knows this.

He accused the paper leak mafia of flourishing under the supervision of the government. He argued that banning Telegram would only harm the students. A large number of students prepare notes, test series and discussions through Telegram only.

Rahul Gandhi wrote on his X account, ‘Telegram ban’ – Modi government’s new recipe to stop paper leaks. That is, instead of catching the thief, lock the victim’s house. Lakhs of students have been studying on Telegram for years – notes, test series, discussion, preparation. How was taking away that facility the solution to the paper leak?

Rahul Gandhi further wrote, ‘This is not foolproof either, every student of the country and the paper leak mafia also knows this. Then who will be banned next? Whatsapp? Students will be searched on the day of examination. The pockets will be cut with scissors. Question papers will be sent from Air Force. There will be no dearth of show off. But there is not even a single attack on the root of the disease, because the paper leak mafia is flourishing under the supervision of this government and is making the youth cry tears of blood.

Why was Telegram banned?

NEET-UG 2026 exam will be conducted again on June 21. Earlier, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had recommended the central government to block Telegram. The agency alleges that Telegram is being used to mislead candidates and run organized cheating gangs. The government has imposed a temporary ban on Telegram till June 22. However, Telegram has filed an appeal against the government’s decision in the Delhi High Court. The petition is expected to be heard after two days.
