Giannis Sweepstakes Take New Turn as Milwaukee Questions Heat Package

The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly still not convinced by the Miami Heat’s current trade package for franchise superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, causing negotiations between the two teams to move slowly ahead of the 2026 NBA Draft.

According to multiple reports, Miami remains one of the most aggressive suitors for the two-time NBA MVP. The Heat’s proposed package is believed to include star guard Tyler Herro, young talent such as Kel’el Ware and Jaime Jaquez Jr., along with multiple draft picks and pick swaps. However, Milwaukee’s front office believes the offer still falls short of the value required to part with one of the league’s biggest stars.

The Bucks are reportedly seeking a transformational return that would help reshape the franchise’s future. Team executives want a combination of proven young players, elite prospects and significant draft compensation before agreeing to move Antetokounmpo.

Despite the stalled talks, Miami remains confident because reports suggest Giannis prefers the Heat if he leaves Milwaukee. The prospect of pairing Antetokounmpo with Bam Adebayo has made Miami one of the favorites in the trade race.

The Boston Celtics have also emerged as a serious contender, while several other teams continue monitoring the situation. Milwaukee is expected to make a decision on Giannis’ future before the NBA Draft, but the organization is showing no urgency to accept an offer it considers inadequate.

For now, the Giannis saga remains the biggest story of the NBA offseason. While Miami may have the strongest interest, the Bucks are making it clear that acquiring a former MVP and NBA champion will require a package capable of changing the direction of an entire franchise.
