A 45-year-old woman was found dead on a rooftop under the jurisdiction of Amar Colony Police Station in Delhi, with police saying that a suspect present at the scene allegedly confessed to the killing.
The victim has been identified as Meena Devi Halderwho worked as a domestic help in a house in the area. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the murder.
Police receive information about body
According to DCP South East Hemant Tiwaripolice received information at approximately 11:36 am regarding the presence of a woman’s body on a rooftop. Officers immediately reached the location and secured the area to preserve evidence and facilitate the investigation. The crime scene was subsequently cordoned off as forensic and investigative procedures were initiated.
Police identified the deceased as Meena Devi Halder (45). Officials said she was employed as a maid in a local household. Further inquiries are being conducted to establish the circumstances leading up to the incident. Accused allegedly confesses at scene
DCP Hemant Tiwari said the accused was found at the location and allegedly admitted to killing the woman. According to the police officer, the suspect claimed to have used a bat and a knife in the attack. Police have taken the accused into custody and are carrying out further questioning.
