Rain Update : Heavy rain in Northeast India; Many states will get relief from monsoon

New Delhi : The influence of Western Disturbance, cyclonic winds and active monsoon is likely to cause rapid changes in the weather across the country. In the north-eastern part of India heavy rain seems to be happening. Chances of rain with thunder are being predicted in many parts. There is a possibility of lightning and hail, gusty wind and heat increase in some parts.

The climate of the country is going to change rapidly once again. The combined effect of new Western Disturbance, cyclonic winds and active Southwest Monsoon is likely to increase rain, thundershower, lightning and hail over many parts of Northwest, Central, East and Northeast India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rains in northeastern states including Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim, while warnings of gusty winds, squalls and hail have been issued in several states in northwest India.

According to the Meteorological Department, a system of westerly winds active from June 18 will affect the weather in northwest India. Other weather systems are also active in different parts of the country, leading to different weather patterns in different regions. Heavy rain and gusty winds are likely in some parts, while humidity and heat may worsen the situation in other parts.

Fishermen should not go into the sea

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea due to adverse weather conditions in coastal areas. Due to the influence of the westerly system, gusty winds of 40 to 50 kmph with thundershowers are likely over Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Chandigarh. Hailstorm is also likely in some parts of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Climate in Rajasthan can be more severe.

Cloudy weather in Delhi NCR

Delhi NCR is likely to have cloudy skies throughout the day on Friday. Light rain or showers may occur in some areas during evening and night. Winds are likely to blow at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour during this period.
