Apart from this, he stressed that water cut will be started much earlier in the next season. Also, there will be a complete ban on wastage of water in washing vehicles, gardening or other unnecessary works.

Why was water cut necessary?

Ashwini Bhide said that due to the increasing population of Mumbai and increasing demand for water, there is a lot of pressure on water resources. Due to the slow onset of monsoon and low stock of water in the lakes, it was necessary to make this cut as a precautionary measure, so that major water problems can be avoided in the future.
