Israel attacks Lebanon before the meeting, JD Vance cancels peace talks with Iran
The initial MoU between Iran and the United States was signed this week for peace in the Middle East. The two countries were supposed to hold talks in Switzerland on Friday. But America canceled that meeting at the last moment. On this day, US Vice President JD Vance said that he is not going to Switzerland. Later on, a day will be decided and negotiations will be held with Iran. It is known that Israel is behind the cancellation of this meeting.
The MoU, which was signed this week after more than two-and-a-half months of war between the US and Iran, had as its primary condition that neither the US nor Israel launch an attack on Lebanon. However, the Israeli army attacked Lebanon on Thursday night by flouting that condition. Israel proudly acknowledged the attack on Friday and said that its army had attacked several locations in southern Lebanon overnight. 16 people died in the attack. In addition, Israel has made it clear that they will continue to attack southern Lebanon. Because Hezbollah is constantly attacking northern Israel.

Israel also claimed that 4 Israeli soldiers were killed in Hezbollah attacks in southern Lebanon. The Israeli Air Force has retaliated. It is assumed that due to this incident, everything was thwarted at the last moment when the negotiations reached the threshold. US Vice President JD Vance issued a statement on Friday morning saying that he is not going to Switzerland for the time being. However, talks with Iran will continue. The two countries will discuss soon after fixing the date.
It should be noted that the MoU has been signed on 14 conditions for Iran-US peace. Among them, the war must stop in the rest of the Middle East, including Iran and Lebanon. Israel and America will guarantee that there will be no new war. Trump also warned Netanyahu to take more responsibility on the Lebanon issue. But the Israeli bombardment of southern Lebanon and Beirut continues. Naturally, the question arises, will it be possible to sustain the agreement in the end in such a situation?
