Patna. Janashakti Janata Dal (JJD) chief Tej Pratap Yadav has filed a police complaint against his former colleague Akash Yadav and his family members, accusing them of conspiring to murder him and his father Lalu Prasad. Tej Pratap lodged a complaint at the Secretariat police station on Friday.
“Based on my complaint, an FIR has been registered against Akash Yadav, his sister Anushka Yadav and six others,” he told reporters here. They are trying to tarnish my image. My father Lalu Prasad ji is unwell. These people are plotting to murder me and my father.
He requested Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary to provide him adequate security. Anushka Yadav is also among the people named in the complaint. Tej Pratap had claimed to be in an affair with Anushka despite his married status. After this incident, Tej Pratap’s father Lalu Prasad expelled him from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
However, former minister Tej Pratap later withdrew his claim and said that the confusion was created due to his social media account being ‘hacked’. Tej Pratap also claimed that the alleged threat could be part of a wider political conspiracy. He alleged, “It is possible that Akash Yadav wants to get me killed in collaboration with the opposition.”
Before Tej Pratap lodged the complaint, Akash Yadav had also lodged a complaint against the JJD chief at Patliputra police station in the capital. Akash Yadav alleges that Tej Pratap along with one of his associates had tried to forcibly enter Akash’s house and wanted to meet his family members. The JJD chief termed these allegations as “false and fabricated”.
Akash Yadav claimed that he had received a call from a US number. The person making the phone call had described himself as connected to a jailed gangster. Police said they are investigating the matter. It is noteworthy that Tej Pratap was expelled from RJD for six years on May 25 last year.
The action came a day after his social media post in which he allegedly admitted to being in a “relationship” with Anushka. However, he later deleted the post and claimed that his social media page had been “hacked”. Lalu Prasad had also publicly distanced himself from Tej Pratap due to his ‘irresponsible behaviour’.
