Foreign representatives gathered in Rishikesh on Yoga Day, gave message of peace and harmony

Uttarakhand:On the occasion of 12th International Yoga Day, the banks of Ganga at Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh looked drenched with spiritual energy and enthusiasm. Yoga practitioners not only from India but from many countries of the world practiced yoga collectively here and gave the message of the power of yoga and its global importance. The presence of foreign ambassadors, diplomats and high officials on this special occasion made the program even more special. The message of world peace, harmony and unity of humanity was given through yoga.

Swami Chidanand Saraswati Maharaj, President of Parmarth Niketan, while highlighting the importance of Yoga, said that Yoga is not just a means of keeping the body healthy, but it is a way of life to balance the mind, soul and consciousness. He said that this precious knowledge given to the world by Indian sages is today inspiring the entire world to live a healthy and balanced life.

He told that in modern times people are facing stress, mental pressure, violence, imbalance and environmental challenges. In such a situation, yoga, meditation and Indian spiritual tradition can play an important role in showing humanity the right direction. According to him, yoga makes a person strong from within and brings positivity in life.

Yoga is the common heritage of entire humanity: Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati

On this occasion, Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati said that Yoga is not limited to any one religion, community, language or country. This is an invaluable gift given by India to the entire humanity. He said that when a person understands himself better, only then he is able to establish a deep relationship with nature, society and God. He described Yoga as a power which works to connect people. According to him, the message of Yoga is not division but unity, not opposition but cooperation and not unrest but inner peace.

Foreign representatives appreciated India’s yoga tradition

In the program, ambassadors, high commissioners and diplomats from many countries of the world did collective yoga practice on the banks of Ganga. Expressing respect for India’s ancient yoga tradition, he said that yoga has inspired people all over the world to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Foreign representatives believe that yoga is not just a physical exercise, but it has also become a medium to bring people and countries closer culturally and spiritually. Yoga has strengthened communication and understanding between different cultures.

Diplomats from many countries were present

This special event was attended by senior diplomats and officials of many countries including HE Chavanart Thangsumphant, Ambassador of Thailand, Honorary Consul of Israel Joyshree Verma, High Commissioner of Guyana Dharamkumar Seeraj, Ambassador of Serbia Sinisha Pavic, Ambassador Charge d’Affaires of Nepal Dr. Surendra Thapa and High Commissioner of Bangladesh M. Riyaz Hamidullah. All the guests expressed their faith in Yoga and described it as an effective medium for global welfare.
