President reaches Gwalior, will visit Kuno National Park
Bhopal. President Draupadi Murmu is on a visit to Madhya Pradesh these days. After attending the International Yoga Day and the 36th convocation of Rani Durgavati University in Jabalpur on Sunday, the President reached Gwalior by a special plane. He was warmly welcomed at Gwalior airport. The President will visit Palpur in Kuno National Park in Sheopur district.
Before this, the President left for Gwalior from Jabalpur. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav bid him an emotional farewell at Dumna Airport in Jabalpur. Other public representatives were also present along with him on this occasion.
President Murmu reached the Air Force airport at Maharajpura in Gwalior at 2.40 pm by Air Force aircraft. Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel was also with him. The President was welcomed at Gwalior airport by Governor Mangubhai Patel and Water Resources and District In-charge Minister Tulsiram Silavat by presenting him a bunch of flowers. On this occasion, Social Justice and Horticulture Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha, Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar, MP Bharat Singh Kushwaha and Mayor Shobha Satish Sikarwar also gave him a warm welcome by presenting him a bouquet.
Additional Chief Secretary Manu Srivastava, Home Guard DG Pragya Richa Srivastava, Divisional Commissioner Manoj Khatri, IG Arvind Kumar Saxena, DIG Asit Yadav, Collector Ruchika Chauhan, Superintendent of Police Dharamveer Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sangh Priya and senior Air Force officers were present at the airport.
After staying for some time, President Murmu and Governor Patel left for Koon in Sheopur district by helicopter. The President will visit Palpur in Kuno National Park in Sheopur district, where she will inquire about the enclosures of cheetahs brought from Botswana, their maintenance and the progress of Project Cheetah. President Murmu will take a cheetah safari on Monday, June 22, after an overnight stay in Kuno National Park, where she will also meet cheetah friends, members of the cheetah monitoring team and Kuno guides.
After the tour, President Murmu Kuno will come to Gwalior Airport Maharajpura by helicopter on June 22 at 10.40 am. After staying for some time, she will leave for New Delhi in an Air Force plane.
