Rules for making DL are strict in UP, license will not be given without training
Lucknow. A major change can be seen in the process of getting a driving license in Uttar Pradesh. The government is now preparing to ensure that no person is issued a permanent driving license without proper training and knowledge of traffic rules. Under the new system, there is a plan to make the licensing process more transparent and strict than before.
The government believes that a major reason for road accidents is the carelessness of drivers and lack of knowledge of rules. In view of this, more emphasis is being laid on checking the capability and knowledge of the applicant before issuing the driving license.
Focus will be on test and training
In the new system, learning license will be issued first. After this the applicant will have to complete driving training. It will be necessary to pass a driving test for a permanent license. DL will be issued only after passing the test and after the report of the officials.
The process can be like passport
The government is preparing to strengthen the driving license system like the passport process. In this, biometric verification of the applicant will be done and work is going on to link the entire process with the online system. However, instead of police verification, driving test will be given an important role in driving license.
Transport department started preparations
Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Transport Department has started work towards implementing the new system. Currently, many tasks in the licensing process are done through private agencies, while the role of driving test centers can also be increased in the new system.
Big step regarding road safety
The aim of the government is that only such drivers should come on the road who have proper driving experience and knowledge of traffic rules. It is believed that after the implementation of new rules, it can help in reducing road accidents. However, before implementing the new system, necessary changes are being made in the existing system. In the coming time, its complete guidelines can be issued by the Transport Department.
