Railways will charge double the fine: Rules changed after 13 years, don’t make this mistake even by mistake

New Railway Rules : Railways has doubled the fine for traveling without ticket after 13 years. This means that now if caught without a ticket, the minimum fine will be Rs 500 instead of Rs 250. The Railway Ministry had issued a notification on Friday evening to implement the amendments made in the Railway Act and this rule has come into effect from June 20.

In fact, till now the Railways used to collect the full fare and Rs 250 as fine from those traveling without tickets. In the year 2013, Railways had increased the fine for traveling without ticket from Rs 50 to Rs 250. At the same time, the fine has been increased after about 13 years. On June 18, the Railway Ministry had sent a letter to all the railway zones of the country informing them about the new rules.

Additionally, if traveling on a ticket booked in the name of another person, the ticket may be confiscated. Along with this, full fare and additional charges will also be collected. At the same time, action will also be taken against those who sell goods, hawk or beg without permission in the train or at the railway station. In these cases, a fine of up to Rs 2000 can be imposed. Sometimes violating the rules can lead to jail.
