After June 17, 11 ships coming to India crossed Hormuz, what were they loaded with?
Eleven ships bound for India have crossed the Strait of Hormuz, after a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was finalized between the US and Iran to end the conflict in West Asia. The Foreign Ministry itself gave this information on Tuesday. Following the lifting of US sanctions on Iran’s petroleum products under the peace deal, India has said it is monitoring developments in West Asia and energy supplies are decided on the basis of national interests.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, ‘As of today, 10 of our Indian-flagged ships are still in the Persian Gulf region. Apart from this, two more ships have arrived there recently. Since the signing of the MoU on June 17, 11 ships coming to India have crossed the Strait of Hormuz.

More than 8,55,000 metric crude oil
The Ministry of External Affairs said that these ships include three Indian-flagged crude oil tankers. These three tankers, each of which carries more than 8,55,000 metric tons of crude oil. There are also one foreign-flagged LPG carrier, one foreign-flagged crude oil tanker and six foreign-flagged bulk cargo vessels. These are loaded with manure.
The ministry said, ‘We hope that the remaining Indian-flagged ships will also be able to cross the Strait of Hormuz soon.’ West Asia has been a major source of energy supply for India.
Close monitoring of all activities
In response to a question related to the lifting of US sanctions on Iranian crude oil, the Foreign Ministry said, ‘We are closely monitoring all the activities related to West Asia. As far as our energy supply is concerned, you know very well that our policy is based on national interests.

Our priority is the people of India
The Ministry of External Affairs said, ‘Our priority is to ensure that 1.4 billion people can get energy at affordable prices and from diverse sources. This has consistently been our policy. In response to another question, the ministry said that India has had good relations with Palestine for decades. He said that under our development partnership framework, we have launched several development projects in Palestine.
