Almost 3 goals in every match, all-time record will be broken in this FIFA World Cup

The performance of star players in the tournament has been tremendous. Lionel Messi of Argentina has scored the maximum 5 goals. Whereas France’s Kylian Mbappe, Norway’s Erling Holland and Brazil’s Vinicius Junior have scored four goals each.

The all-time record of the FIFA World Cup is certain to be broken in this tournament. This is the biggest football World Cup in history, with 104 matches being played, whereas the format used in the previous seven World Cups had only 64 matches. 4 years ago there were 172 goals scored in Qatar. So far in this World Cup, 161 goals have been scored in 54 matches. A new record will be made in a day or two.

The average of goals scored per match in this tournament is the highest in 50 years. This time on average 3 goals (2.98) are being scored in every match. Spain scored an average of 2.81 goals per match in 1982, while Mexico scored 2.97 goals in 1970 and Sweden 3.60 in 1958. In the 1954 World Cup held in Switzerland, the highest average of 5.38 goals were scored in every match. The final score of a match in that tournament was 7-5, which is still the highest-goal match in the history of the Men’s World Cup.
