Stock market lost its gains, Sensex and Nifty closed with slight rise.

New Delhi. Today, after gaining strong momentum during early trading, the domestic stock market closed with a slight gain due to getting stuck in profit booking in the second session of the day.

Today’s trading started on a strong note. Encouraged by the fall in the price of crude oil in the international market, investors bought heavily in the first session of the day, due to which both the Sensex and Nifty indices gained tremendously.

However, as profit booking started in the second session of the day, the gains of both these indices reduced significantly. After the entire day’s trading, Sensex and Nifty closed with a gain of 0.14 percent.

Today, during the day’s trading, there was buying in shares of FMCG, realty, banking and automobile sectors. On the other hand, there was continuous selling pressure in shares of IT, media and energy sectors.

Similarly, Public Sector Enterprise, Oil and Gas, Metal, Healthcare, Consumer Durables and Capital Goods indices also closed in the red with a decline.

Selling pressure continued in the broader market today, due to which the Nifty Midcap index closed with a weakness of 0.55 percent. Similarly, the Smallcap index ended today’s trading with a decline of 0.47 percent.

Despite the strength in the stock market today, due to selling in midcap and smallcap shares, the wealth of stock market investors reduced by more than Rs 75 thousand crore.

The market capitalization of BSE listed companies declined to Rs 475.16 lakh crore (provisional) after today’s trading.

Whereas on the last trading day i.e. Wednesday, their market capitalization was Rs 475.92 lakh crore. In this way, investors suffered a loss of about Rs 76 thousand crore from today’s trading.

Today, there was active trading in 4,406 shares in BSE in the day’s trading. Of these, 1,641 shares closed with gains, while 2,581 shares were in decline, while 184 shares closed without any movement.

There was active trading in 2,992 shares in NSE today. Of these, 1,020 shares closed in the green after earning profit and 1,972 shares closed in the red after incurring a loss.

Similarly, out of 30 shares included in Sensex, 11 shares closed with gains and 19 shares closed with decline. Whereas out of 50 shares included in Nifty, 23 shares closed in the green mark and 27 shares closed in the red mark.

BSE Sensex opened today with a gain of 399.85 points at the level of 77,391.07 points. Buying started shortly after the start of trading, due to which the index gained 811.96 points and reached the level of 77,803.18 points shortly after 12 noon. Investors, excited by this rise in the first session of the day, started booking profits in the second session of the day.

Due to continuous selling in order to book profits, shortly before the end of today’s trading, the Sensex fell by 810.02 points from the day’s high and reached the level of 76,993.16 points with a symbolic gain of 1.94 points. After the whole day’s trading, the Sensex closed at 77,100.47 points with a gain of 109.25 points.

Like the Sensex, NSE’s Nifty today started trading with a jump of 104.20 points at the level of 24,125.85 points.

Shortly after the market opened, buyers made buying efforts, due to which the movement of this index increased.

With the support of continuous buying, Nifty strengthened by 239.95 points and reached the level of 24,261.60 points. After this, selling started in the market in order to book profits, due to which the movement of Nifty became downwards.

Due to continuous selling, this index slipped 222.60 points from the upper level and reached the level of 24,039 points shortly before the end of today’s trading.

It is a matter of relief that despite the selling pressure, this index continued to trade in the green mark throughout. After buying and selling throughout the day, Nifty closed at 24,056 points with a gain of 34.35 points.
