New twist in Ram temple theft case, from control room to VVIP darshan, questions raised on Arjun Dev’s role

Lucknow: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the theft of offerings in the Ram temple of Ayodhya has recently presented a report, in which many questions have been raised regarding the security arrangements. According to the report, serious shortcomings have come to light regarding the CCTV surveillance system in the room where the offerings are counted. Due to this, now officer Arjun Dev associated with the Wireless Department of Police has also come under the ambit of investigation.

Arjun Dev had this big responsibility

According to the information, Arjun Dev was responsible for monitoring the CCTV cameras installed at the place where the offered notes were counted. SIT believes that despite this important responsibility related to security, he was also playing an active role in other administrative and trust related work. The report said that his involvement in VVIP darshan arrangements and management related activities in the temple premises has been seen more than the normal responsibilities.

Posted in Ayodhya since 2009

During investigation it also came to light that Arjun Dev was continuously posted in Ayodhya since 2009. During this period, his transfer orders were issued several times, but due to various reasons they could not be implemented. Recently, the transfer order issued for Lucknow was also cancelled. Let us tell you, SIT has also mentioned this long tenure and the facts related to it in its report.

There will be a detailed investigation of the officers

It has also been said in the report that during the investigation, the officer had close relations with some officials of the trust. The investigating agency believes that it is necessary to investigate in detail the additional administrative role and influence of the officers working on posts related to security, so that it can be clear whether due to this the security of the temple was affected or not?

At present the SIT has submitted its report to the concerned authorities. Further action will be taken on the basis of the points raised in the report. The investigating agencies are now investigating all the facts, documents and the role of the concerned persons. However, the final conclusion and determination of any responsibility will be taken only after the detailed investigation is completed.
