Chief Minister Vijay expressed condolences
Famous filmmaker, actor and screenwriter of Tamil cinema K. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has expressed deep grief over the demise of Bhagyaraj. He announced on Saturday that Bhagyaraj would be conferred the state honor on his last journey, in recognition of his contribution to Tamil cinema.
Late K. Bhagyaraj passes away
At the age of 73, K. Bhagyaraj died due to cardiac arrest at Apollo Hospital, Chennai. The news of his death shook the South Indian film industry. Chief Minister Vijay, while sharing his condolence message on social media, described Bhagyaraj as a multifaceted talent of Tamil cinema.

CM wrote, ‘Tamil cinema’s leading director, actor, screenwriter, dialogue writer and composer Thiru K. Deeply shocked and saddened to hear the news of Bhagyaraj’s demise. He praised Bhagyaraj’s films and said that he presented unique stories, humour, deep emotions of rural life and family relationships in his works.
Bhagyaraj’s contribution
He further said, ‘His films have made a place forever in the hearts of people. His contribution to the Tamil film industry is incomparable. Chief Minister Vijay also said that every creation of Bhagyaraj will become more memorable with time. His films not only entertain but also give human values and social messages.
Bhagyaraj worked in hundreds of films in his long career and was famous for screenwriting, direction and acting. He also worked with Amitabh Bachchan in films like ‘Aakhri Raasta’. His films are still liked by the audience because they contain simplicity, humor and realism.
