Identity created through mask?
The Chief Minister claimed that during the investigation many such indications have been found which raise questions on the authenticity of the video. According to him, the physical structure, height, walking style and facial structure of the person seen in the video do not match with him.
He also said that a clear line of the mask is visible near the neck in the video. Apart from this, there is a permanent scar on his neck from a childhood operation, which is not visible in the alleged video. The Chief Minister says that these facts prove that some other person is present in the video.
Canadian connection and blackmailer claims
Bhagwant Mann alleged that the video is related to a person sitting in Canada, whom he described as an alleged blackmailer. According to the Chief Minister, such videos and pictures are available on social media in which the said person is seen holding a mask resembling his face.
He claimed that the video was shot in Canada and a well-planned conspiracy was working behind it. The Chief Minister also said that the financiers and organizers of this alleged network are being identified and their information will be made public after the verification is completed.
targeted the opposition
During the press conference, the Chief Minister also launched a scathing attack on Congress, Akali Dal and BJP. His allegation was that due to not being able to compete politically, the opposition parties were trying to damage his personal image.
He said that the opposition does not have any answer to the development work and public welfare decisions taken by the state government, hence efforts are being made to mislead people through controversial videos. The Chief Minister termed it a political conspiracy and said that the public understands the truth.
Religious and political debate also intensified
This matter is not only political, but has also become a topic of discussion among religious institutions and social organizations. The Chief Minister said that if necessary, all the facts and technical reports related to the video will also be presented before the concerned religious institutions.
He clarified that he respects the supremacy of religious institutions and is ready to cooperate in any investigation or verification process.
Preparation for investigation and legal action
The Chief Minister said that an FIR has been registered in the matter and the investigating agencies are investigating the entire episode on the basis of technical evidence. He indicated that if the allegations are confirmed, legal action will be taken at the international level as well.
At present this controversy remains the most talked about issue in Punjab politics. On one hand the Chief Minister is calling it a conspiracy to tarnish his image, while on the other hand the opposition is demanding more transparency from the government. The findings of the investigation in the coming days will decide the direction of this entire matter.
