Torch procession organized on 51st year of emergency
Daughter. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Bettiah protested by taking out a torch procession on the completion of 51 years of Emergency. The torch march that started from Shaheed Park of the city ended at Soa Babu Chowk. During this, the workers raised slogans like ‘Down with anti-democratic forces’, ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, ‘Those forces imposing emergency are doomed’.
Abhijeet Rai, department coordinator of ABVP West Champaran, said that this year is the 51st year of imposition of emergency. In the year 1975, an autocratic decision of the then ruling system had strangulated the entire democratic system. This day was a dark day for the common man in terms of the fundamental rights provided by the Constitution. The imposition of unwanted emergency on the entire nation was done by the government of that time.
District Convenor Sitanshu Dibyal and State Executive Member Shailesh Kushwaha said that today a torch procession was taken out by the workers of Vidyarthi Parishad Bettiah as a protest against the powers that imposed emergency, which is a symbol of the fact that democratic values are intact in this nation. This torch procession is also a symbol of the fact that whenever anti-people forces rise in this nation, there will be a class which will act to protest against that injustice.
Many workers like Abhayanand, Utkarsh Mishra, Rajneesh Kumar, Priyesh Gautam, Babul Nath, Madhuranjan Tiwari, Priyesh Gautam, Priyanshu, Rajiv Kushwaha, Rajkumar, Akhilesh Kumar, Baban Kumar, Dheeraj etc. were present on the occasion.
