Pune rape-murder case: Convict Bhimrao Kamble gets death sentence!

The court has sentenced death to a man convicted of rape and murder of a three-year-old girl in Nasrapur in Pune district of Maharashtra. 65-year-old Bhimrao Kamble has been found guilty by the court in the case of rape and murder. Pune District and Sessions Court Judge S.R. Salunkhe sentenced the convict Bhimrao Kamble to death.

In its arguments, the prosecution cited 12 important decisions of the Supreme Court related to such cases, which also included the fact that this case falls in the category of ‘rarest of rare’ cases as defined by the Supreme Court.

Considering the nature of the crime and the cruelty used, the judge convicted Kamble and said that the accused does not deserve any leniency or lesser punishment. The judge also said that the injuries sustained on the victim’s body were enough to prove the brutality of the incident.

Taking into account a case of sexual assault already registered against the convict, Kamble, the court said that he was aware of the law and had shown no remorse for his actions throughout the trial. This decision has been given by the court within two months. The culprit had committed the crime on May 1.

The police had filed the charge sheet within 15 days of the incident. Charges were framed on 28 May and final arguments were completed on 21 June.

Let us tell you that on May 1, Bhor taluka of Pune was shaken by this sensational incident. 65 year old convict Bhimrao Kamble had brutally murdered the innocent child. It is said that the culprit took his life by crushing him with a stone.

This incident came to light when the girl went missing in the afternoon and her family members started searching for her everywhere. During the search, his mutilated and blood-soaked body was found.

CCTV footage from the area showed Kamble taking the girl with him, which helped police identify him and take him into custody.
