Will Qatar release Iran’s six billion dollars? Pejeshkian’s claim amid tension with America
Tehran. Iranian President Masoud Pejeshkian said on Monday that Iran’s six billion dollars deposited in Qatar will be released soon. He made this statement at a time when talks with the US took place in the Persian Gulf region over the weekend.
Pejeshkian is Iran’s most senior official. He has publicly mentioned this amount deposited in Qatar. Qatar is playing an important mediator role in the talks between America and Iran. However, US officials say that none of the Iranian deposits have been released so far.
According to Iran’s state news agency, Pejeshkian said, ‘According to the plan, out of the total $12 billion of Iran’s assets stored in Qatar, six billion dollars will be returned to the country. Necessary process for this is going on. It is believed that this statement has been given to increase the confidence of the people of the country regarding the interim agreement.
