Saif Ali Khan is teaching religious lessons to children, 9-year-old Taimur’s answer will win hearts.:

Read, Digital Desk : Saif Ali Khan has said that he raises his children with open views, especially regarding religion. Saif Ali Khan comes from a family that includes people from different religions. Even both his marriages were in different religions: the first to Amrita Singh and the second to Kareena Kapoor. Saif’s parents were cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore.

These things are taught to children about religion.

Speaking at the London edition of ‘We The Women’, Saif said that he enjoys discussing religion with his children, and also admitted that he himself is not very religious.

Saif said, “It’s a conversation I love having with them. Because I’m not a very religious person myself. My mother taught me, and I’ve taught my children, that God is one and has many names. It’s that simple. You worship Him in different places, and if your religion teaches love and forgiveness, that’s enough.”

Saif grew up among different religions

The actor also talked about his childhood and how studying in Christian schools gave him the opportunity to learn about different religions. Saif explained, “I grew up in churches and schools where the day began with prayer in the chapel. I tried to avoid it by saying I was from another religion, and then they called a cleric to talk to us. That didn’t work.”

He added, “But I was raised in a very Christian environment. The kids would pray, and then there would be prayers from other religions. They celebrated Christmas just like Diwali. That’s how I was raised. I never thought much about it. It just happened.”

Taimur’s sensible reply impressed everyone.

Saif also shared a recent conversation with his nine-year-old son, Taimur Ali Khan, that impressed him. Saif said, “I asked him, ‘What’s the difference between religion and methodology?’ Taimur replied, ‘In religion, we pray, and in methodology, we don’t.’

Saif said that’s a good answer, adding that we constantly talk about these things. I’m lucky I didn’t grow up that way. My mother was open-minded about these matters, and my wife is as well.
