In the order issued by the government, it was said that the recent restrictions imposed on the sale of petrol and diesel in the country have been lifted. According to this government order, the ban imposed on purchase and sale of fuel will be completely abolished from July 1. This simply means that from July 1, fuel will be available normally at petrol pumps and retail stations like before.

In fact, in June 2026, the supply of crude oil and fuel was affected due to the increasing war in West Asia and disruptions in the global supply chain. During that time, the government feared that there might be a shortage of petrol and diesel in the country. For this reason, the government took emergency steps and banned commercial buyers from purchasing large quantities of fuel from retail petrol pumps. The main objective of this step was to maintain the availability of petrol and diesel for the common people, prevent hoarding and ensure equitable supply of fuel.
