Triumph Bonneville 400 makes another appearance during testing; Soon to be launched in India? find out

In India, the classic bike ‘Triumph Bonneville 400’ has once again been spotted running on the roads during testing. From the new spy photos that have surfaced, it seems that the bike is now fully production ready. Since the bike has been seen undergoing continuous testing for the past few months, it could be officially launched in the Indian market by the end of the current year 2026.

Classic and retro design

The design of the new Bonneville 400 is quite different from Triumph’s current ‘Speed 400’ or ‘Scrambler 400 X’. At the rear of the bike, instead of a monoshock, ‘twin rear shock absorbers’ (two suspensions) have been provided, giving it an authentic vintage look. Apart from this, the round rear fender, round tail lamp, long integrated seat and black colored ‘peashooter exhaust’ (silencer) reinforce the retro style of the bike.

Features and suspension

The test model featured wire-spoke wheels and road-worthy tires. At the front of the bike, conventional telescopic forks suspension is provided with rubber gaiters. It features wide handlebars, round mirrors and an upright seating position for a comfortable ride. It has a round instrument console and the top variant is likely to get a bigger screen.

The bike’s fuel tank looks bigger than the 13-litre tank found in Triumph’s current 400cc models. The large tank and long seat make this bike a great choice for daily use as well as long trips.

Engine and price

As per speculations, this Bonneville bike could be powered by a 350 cc to 400 cc liquid-cooled engine, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It will get features like slipper clutch, ride-by-wire throttle and dual-channel for safety. Triumph might offer the bike in two variants—a classic variant with a chrome finish and spoke wheels, and a dark theme variant with alloy wheels.

After its launch, the Triumph Bonneville 400 will compete directly with the likes of Royal Enfield Classic 350, Java, Yezdi 350 and Honda in the Indian market. It can be an economical and premium option for bike lovers.
