Bhojpur encounter case: Demand for CBI investigation in Bharat Bhushan Tiwari case, hearing in Supreme Court today

New Delhi, 30 June. The Supreme Court will hear on Monday, June 30, the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed in the Bharat (Bharat Bhushan) Tiwari encounter case in Bhojpur, Bihar. The case will be heard by Justice M.M. Sundaresh and Justice Sheel Nagu will be benched. In the petition filed by Supreme Court advocate Vishal Tiwari, a demand has been made for an impartial investigation by the CBI into the alleged encounter. The petitioner says that to ensure transparent investigation of the case, it should be handed over to the Central Investigation Agency.

  • Demand for investigation under the supervision of retired judge

The petition has also demanded the formation of an independent expert committee under the supervision of a retired judge of the Supreme Court. Also, an appeal has been made to register an FIR against the policemen involved in the encounter and conduct a fair and transparent investigation. The petitioner has claimed that Bharat Tiwari’s death is allegedly a case of murder, hence it is necessary to conduct an independent investigation.

  • Post mortem report confirmed five bullets.

The post mortem report, which came out several days after the incident, revealed that Bharat Tiwari had been hit by a total of five bullets. according to the report-

1- The first bullet hit the front side in the upper part of the left thigh.
2- The second bullet hit the inner side of the left thigh.
3-The third bullet hit the middle part of the right thigh.
4-The fourth bullet went from the outer part of the right thigh inwards.
5-The fifth bullet hit the back side of the middle part of the left leg.

  • Politics intensified on the matter

The political atmosphere in Bihar has also heated up regarding the alleged fake encounter of Bharat Tiwari. The opposition is continuously demanding an impartial investigation. At the same time, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has said that if anyone is found guilty in the investigation, he will not be spared. The state government has also constituted a judicial commission to investigate the matter. Now all eyes are on the Supreme Court hearing in this case, because the court’s decision can prove to be important in deciding the direction of the investigation.
