New Delhi : A special street play campaign named ‘Badhaai Ho Badhaai’ has been launched across the country with the aim of promoting clean and sustainable energy and making citizens aware of the benefits of renewable energy. This campaign is being organized to increase public awareness about PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme.

Through this street play, which is being presented in about 200 districts of the country during June 2026, information about rooftop solar and its benefits is being conveyed to the people in a simple, interesting and effective manner. PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme is an ambitious initiative run by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) which aims to encourage installation of rooftop solar systems in households and provide financial assistance for the same. This scheme provides an opportunity to citizens to contribute in reducing electricity expenses as well as making the country clean, green and energy self-reliant.
The story of the street play revolves around a man whose electricity bill has come to zero. Neighbors arrive to congratulate him and express curiosity to know how this was possible.
