Noel Tata To Step Down As Voltas Chairman
Mumbai: Noel Tata has announced that he will step down as the Chairman of Voltas, marking the end of another significant leadership role within the Tata Group. The announcement came during the company’s 72nd Annual General Meeting (AGM), just a week after he stepped down as Chairman of Trent following nearly three decades of service.
Addressing shareholders on Tuesday, the 69-year-old said the AGM would be his final one as Chairman of Voltas. He expressed confidence in the company’s leadership team, stating that Voltas has successfully developed its next generation of leaders through a combination of internal promotions and strategic lateral hiring.

He highlighted the strong performance of the room air conditioner business, which crossed the milestone of selling one million units in a record 81 days. He described the achievement as reaffirming the company’s leadership in the air conditioning segment.
He also acknowledged the contribution of employees and joint venture partners in helping the company achieve sustained growth.

Even after stepping down from the Voltas chairmanship, Noel Tata continues to hold several key positions within the Tata Group.
He serves as the Non-Executive Chairman of Tata Investment Corporation, Tata International, Trent Hypermarket and Tata International West Asia DMCC, Dubai. He is also the Vice-Chairman of Tata Steel and Titan Company.
His exit from Voltas follows his recent decision to step down as Chairman of Trent, signalling a gradual transition of leadership responsibilities within the Tata Group.
