Thane: Electric current ran in waterlogged area, 17 year old girl died after getting electrocuted

A painful accident shocked everyone amid continuous rains in Thane district of Maharashtra. A 17-year-old girl died due to electrocution in rain water in Mumbra area. After this accident the anger of the local people has erupted. People say that this accident is the result of negligence of the electricity department and administration, due to which an innocent person lost his life.

 

The deceased has been identified as Aliya Chandiwala, who was a resident of Yasmin Park area of ​​Mumbra. She had left home on Wednesday night for some important work. While passing through a waterlogged part of the way, she got electrocuted. In critical condition, family members and local people took him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police have sent the body for post-mortem and started investigating the case.

The current of death was flowing in the drain

Local people have accused the electricity department of gross negligence. He says that near the drain where this accident took place, the main electricity cable was lying open and unsafe for many months. People said that even before the rains started, we had requested the authorities several times to tie the cable up, but no one listened to us. The situation is such that you call the electricity department office 50 times to complain, yet no responsible officer even picks up the phone.

Two more painful accidents amid rain in Mumbai

Before this incident in Thane, two major accidents have occurred in Mumbai also during rains. Aslam Isak Sheikh, 60, fell into an open manhole in Chandiwali area, resulting in his death. It was told that the cover of the manhole was removed for cleaning work. Due to heavy rain, he could not see the open manhole and fell into it. Later the relief and rescue team took out his body. Apart from this, an old Peepal tree had fallen on a school bus in Chembur. 11-year-old student Vihaan Srivastava lost his life in this accident, while five other children were injured. After the incident, Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde has ordered a detailed investigation into the matter.
