Threat to blow up ISRO headquarters: Message received on chairman’s email, police on high alert
Security agencies have become alert after receiving a threat to bomb the headquarters of the country’s space agency Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in Bengaluru. This threatening e-mail has been sent directly to the official office of ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan, after which there was panic in the entire area. From security point of view, police and bomb squad have been deployed on the spot with immediate effect and the entire complex is being thoroughly investigated. Bomb squad deployed for security, intensive search underway. As soon as information about the threat was received, Bengaluru Police teams swung into action and reached ISRO headquarters. As a precaution, the bomb squad team searched every nook and corner of the premises. However, no suspicious object or explosive has been found in the initial investigation so far. The local administration has clarified that no laxity is being done in terms of security and as a precautionary measure the security of the complex has been tightened. Police is investigating the source of the email, many teams of the technical branch of the police have become active to find out who gave the threat and what is the motive behind it. Officials are tracking the IP address of this email to find out who is sending the email and whether the message has been sent from within the country or has been sent from abroad. The Cyber Crime Department is investigating this matter closely so that the accused can be reached as soon as possible. Incidents of bomb threats are increasing in the country. It is noteworthy that this is not the first case of receiving bomb threats to blow up institutions of public importance. Even before this, such threats have been made through emails to schools and important government offices in different parts of the country. Recently, many reputed schools of Delhi, like DPS Dwarka, Krishna Model School and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya had also received similar bomb threat emails, which created chaos in the administration. At present, in the ISRO case, the police say that they are investigating from every angle and soon the mastermind behind this threat will be revealed.
