Recommendation to conduct NEET UG exam in multiple stages like JEE

NEET Exam: Will the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test i.e. NEET UG exam also be held in multiple phases like JEE and as a computer based test? In fact, the parliamentary committee has also made such a recommendation for the NEET exam, because at present around 20 lakh students are examined in a day. Now the Parliamentary Committee has recommended making the NEET exam a multi-phase and computer-based exam.

What did the parliamentary panel propose?
The Parliamentary Committee has also recommended that separate entrance exams should be conducted for MBBS, AYUSH and Nursing courses. This will reduce the number of candidates appearing for the same exam. According to sources, NTA said regarding this that admission in different courses is decided on the basis of NEET score, it would not be practical to conduct separate examinations.

Efforts intensified to bring transparency in NEET exam
According to NTA, the Health Ministry will take the final decision on the proposal put forward by the Parliamentary Committee.
