Rainfall in many parts of the country; Cloud burst again in Jammu and Kashmir, Badrinath highway closed due to rain
New Delhi : From last few days there is a drastic change in the atmosphere. In many states of the country heavy rain seems to be happening. Meanwhile, Southwest Monsoon has provided relief from intense heat in Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. But in the hilly areas haha: the car has blown up. There has been a cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir, due to which floods are seen. Badrinath highway in Uttarakhand has been closed for several hours. So thousands of pilgrims got stuck.
In Himachal Pradesh, 46 roads have been closed due to rain and landslides. While the monsoon has brought relief from prolonged heatwaves in many parts of the country, it has also left a trail of devastation in its wake. These rains have brought great relief from the intense heat and humidity in the plains of Punjab, Haryana and northwest India. However, due to cloudbursts in Jammu and Kashmir for the second day in a row, many areas have been flooded and a road has been washed away.
In Uttarakhand, the Badrinath highway was closed for eleven and a half hours due to bad weather, leaving over 8,000 pilgrims stranded on the route. Heavy rains have also wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh. 46 roads in the state are closed due to rain, floods and landslides.
Temperature below normal in Haryana, Punjab
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), intermittent rains in Haryana and Punjab kept the maximum temperature well below normal and provided a great relief from the scorching sun. After the arrival of monsoon, rains also lashed parts of western Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, providing respite from the heat and dust storms.
Heavy to very heavy rain warning
The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in many eastern and southeastern districts of Rajasthan in the coming days. After the rains in Punjab, the maximum temperature dropped significantly, with Ropar recording the highest temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in the state was 2.5 degrees below the average, while the minimum temperature was recorded 3.4 degrees below the average.
