Anger flared up over remarks against Prophet Muhammad, effigy of Nazia Ilahi burnt; Shahi Imam said – Insolence will not be tolerated

Ludhiana: There is huge anger in the Muslim society over the alleged controversial remarks made in honor of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Sahib. Thousands of people from the Muslim community took to the streets after Friday prayers in Ludhiana, Punjab. A massive protest demonstration was organized by Majlis Ahrar Islam Hind outside the historic Jama Masjid. During this, the protesters raised slogans against the accused woman Nazia Ilahi and burnt her effigy and demanded her immediate arrest. Considering the sensitivity of the matter, heavy police force was also deployed in the area.

Actually, this controversy has deepened after a comment surfaced on social media. National President of Majlis Ahrar Islam Hind and Shahi Imam of Punjab, Maulana Muhammad Usman Rahmani Ludhianvi, who is leading the protesters gathered outside Jama Masjid, has demanded strict action from the Central and State Government. He bluntly said that disrespect for the Prophet will not be tolerated at any cost. After the demonstration, the Muslim delegation also submitted a memorandum to ADC Rural Development Dr. Narendra Singh Dhaliwal in the name of His Excellency the President of the country.

Big conspiracy to tarnish the image of the country

Addressing the public from the stage, Shahi Imam Maulana Usman Ludhianvi said that India is a country where all religions and their great men have always been respected. Repeatedly committing such heinous acts in such a country is not just to hurt the sentiments of Muslims, but is also a well-planned conspiracy to tarnish India’s secular image across the world. He alleged that some anti-social elements want to spoil the atmosphere of the country and the government should immediately take legal action against them.

Political forces that spread hatred will never succeed

Taking a sharp stance, Shahi Imam also targeted the forces that stand behind such statements. He said, “Some political forces are giving protection to such hateful people. If they think that by such actions they will scare Muslims or create a wall of hatred in the country, then it is a big misunderstanding on their part.” Maulana Ludhianvi said emotionally that Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Sahib is dearer to every Muslim than his own life. No true Muslim can ever silently watch the arrogance in his honor.

History is witness, those who spread hatred have themselves disappeared.

At the end of his address, Shahi Imam Punjab, citing history, said that in the last 1400 years, many people had made such unsuccessful attempts, but they were lost somewhere in the pages of history. The message of Hazrat Muhammad Sahib and the religion of Islam is continuously progressing throughout the world even today.

It is being told that apart from Ludhiana, peaceful but very strong protests were also registered outside many other mosques of the city after the Friday prayers. Representatives of the Muslim community say that their democratic protest will continue until the accused Nazia Ilahi is sent behind bars.
