Iran will now rule the world’s largest sea route! Toll rate fixed, billions will be earned every day

The major standoff over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes, now seems to be ending. Iran has made it completely clear to America that it will collect toll i.e. tax from every commercial ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz. America was also given official information about this tough decision by Iran during a very important and high-profile meeting held in Qatar.

Till the last moment of this meeting, America had made many requests and appeals to Iran to put this toll plan on hold. For this, American officials gave many big inducements and offers to Iran, but Iran did not back down at all from this historic and big decision.

Iran rejected America’s billion dollar offer

According to a shocking report by ‘Wall Street Journal’, US ambassadors Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner tried their best in this meeting to convince Iran not to collect toll. He had made a big proposal to Iran that if they did not collect toll from the ships, then all the money of Iran seized by America would be immediately returned to them in cash. However, despite this huge financial inducement, Iran remained completely firm on its main decision of collecting toll from the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has made it clear in no uncertain terms that like the Panama Canal, it will continue to charge toll tax on this important global trade route, considering it as its full sovereign right.

Complete mathematics of toll collection and daily earnings of Iran

Iran has prepared a complete plan to collect a huge amount of 43 billion dollars (about $43 Billion) every year through toll from the Strait of Hormuz. If this earning is seen on a daily basis, then Iran will easily earn a bumper income of about 117.8 million dollars every day through this route. On normal days, about 120 small and big merchant ships pass through this narrow sea route of Hormuz every day, due to which this financial target of Iran will be easily achieved. According to this figure, Iran has made a very strict rule to collect 1 million dollars (i.e. more than Rs 8.3 crore) from every ship passing through here.

120 ships expected again after peace in the region

Before the war and tension started in the Middle East, 120 cargo ships used to pass safely towards their destination every day without any hindrance through this important route of Hormuz. Iran now has full hope that after complete peace is established in the region, 120 ships will start passing through this route easily every day. Keeping in mind the potential number of these 120 ships, Iran has set this big and ambitious target of earning 43 billion dollars annually. The special thing is that some part of this huge earning from Iran will definitely be given to its neighboring country Oman.

Shock to the dollar! Preparation to take toll in Chinese and Russian currency

To pay the heavy toll that Iran will charge on all foreign ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, it has decided to completely bypass the US dollar. Iran wants to collect this tax only in Chinese Yuan or Russian Ruble currency. Recently, neighboring country Oman had suggested a middle path to Iran to end this serious toll deadlock peacefully.

Oman had said in its peace proposal that Iran should collect this toll in the name of environmental fee, but should hand over its entire command and management to an impartial and independent global agency. Oman really wanted that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) should not be able to do any arbitrariness in the Strait of Hormuz and the world trade should also continue without any fear.

Iran also completely rejected Oman’s peace proposal

However, Iran completely rejected this practical proposal of neighboring country Oman. Tehran says that its economy, which is struggling with sanctions, is in dire need of its own revenue at this time. Iran has given a very clear message to the whole world that Tehran will not hand over this big and strategic responsibility of toll collection to any other country or external agency.

This tough decision of Iran makes its strict economic intentions along with its increasing military and political dominance on the most sensitive trade route of the Middle East clear to the whole world. Now it remains to be seen what new business and diplomatic strategies all the big countries of the world make to deal with this tough stance of Iran.
