Good news for Bihar! Lithium-ion battery plant will be set up in this district, employment opportunities will increase

Patna: Efforts to increase industrial investment in Bihar have got another major success. Under the new industrial policy of the state government, the process of setting up a lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant has started in Gopalganj district. The project will not only give a boost to modern industries but is also expected to significantly increase employment and economic activities at the local level.

Factory will get space in Hathua industrial area

Five acres of land has been made available in the third phase of Hathua Industrial Area for the proposed battery plant. After allotment of land, the company has now started further preparations for the project. The administration says that efforts are being made to start the construction work soon by completing the necessary approvals on time.

Production will increase in a phased manner

This project will not be developed simultaneously but in four phases. The production capacity will be increased with the completion of each phase. After the final phase, the target is to manufacture thousands of lithium-ion batteries per day. If all the processes are completed on schedule, construction work can begin this year and production is likely to begin in 2027.

Needs of many areas will be met

The use of batteries produced in this unit will not be limited to just one area. Batteries for mobile phones, inverters, energy storage systems and electric vehicles will also be made here. In view of the increasing demand for electric vehicles in the country, this project is also being considered strategically important.

Youth will get employment

A large number of technical and non-technical job opportunities are likely to be created during the construction and operation of the factory. Apart from this, small businessmen involved in transportation, packaging, maintenance of machines, supplies and other supporting services are also expected to get benefits. The business environment of Gopalganj can also be strengthened by increasing economic activities at the local level.
