The trailer of Rao Bahadur has been making a pretty strong buzz ahead of its big theatrical release on July 3.
The psychological drama with Satya Dev in the lead role has started getting praise from a handful of Telugu film personalities pretty much right after it was out. Actors like Naga Chaitanya and Adivi Sesh actually went to social media to share their appreciation for the film’s trailer.
Directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Venkatesh Maha, Rao Bahadur comes off as a psychological drama it is set among the slow fading of an aristocracy. There is mystery mixed in with emotion, plus a steady sense of suspense that sort of hangs around. In the movie, Satya Dev takes on the enigmatic titular role.
Presented by Superstar Mahesh Babu, the trailer opens with a thought provoking narration delivered in the actor’s voice kind of like a quiet hint at what’s coming.
It challenges the comfortable assumption that drama only lives outside logic and then it goes further saying that when drama collides with magic even logic gets a fresh odd new meaning.
The trailer concludes with the line “Made in Telugu, for the world,” and promises that the film has a story with universal appeal while remaining rooted in Telugu cinema.
