Mother killed three children by poisoning them, also hanged herself, husband had died a few months ago
Woman used to work as a daily wage laborer
Chandigarh. In Mansa, Punjab, a woman committed suicide by hanging herself after killing her three children. Police gave this information on Friday. Mansa City Police Station-2 Station In-charge (SHO) Kulwant Singh told on phone that the deceased woman has been identified as 36-year-old Sandeep Kaur.
He said that on Thursday evening, the body of Sandeep Kaur was found hanging in her rented house in Mansa, while her three children, 12-year-old Khushpreet Kaur, seven-year-old Samandeep Kaur and two-year-old son were found dead.
According to the SHO, it is suspected that Sandeep Kaur had given some poisonous substance to her elder daughter, while the other two children may have been strangled to death. However, the exact cause of death will be known only after the post mortem report comes.
Police said that Sandeep Kaur’s husband had died a few months ago. His mother works as a daily wage labourer. The SHO said the reasons behind the woman allegedly killing her children and later committing suicide were being investigated.
