Badrinath Dham offering controversy: Temple committee strict on allegations of alleged embezzlement, inquiry committee formed, notice to employees
Haldwani. After allegations of alleged irregularities in offerings in the famous Badrinath Dham of Uttarakhand came to light, the temple committee has started investigating the matter. Amidst the claims going viral on social media, the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has clarified that taking the allegations seriously, orders have been given for an impartial investigation. At present the allegations have not been confirmed and the investigation is ongoing. Temple committee member Hemant Dwivedi said in a statement that the allegations related to alleged manipulation in the offerings have not been taken lightly. He said that a committee has been formed to investigate the entire matter impartially and factually.
Notices issued to employees
Hemant Dwivedi said that notices have been issued to give clarification to the employees against whom allegations have been made. He said that after the completion of the investigation, if any employee is found guilty, strict action will be taken against him as per the rules. “The temple committee is working with complete transparency in this matter and strict action will be taken if any irregularities are found,” he said.
Denied viral claims regarding private secretary
Hemant Dwivedi also clarified on another claim going viral on social media. He said that in some posts a person is being described as his personal secretary, whereas he does not have any personal secretary. He clarified that the employee whose name is being promoted on social media as his personal secretary is a regular employee of the temple committee and has performed his responsibilities during the tenure of the last three presidents also. Therefore misleading claims should not be believed.
Appeal to avoid rumors
The temple committee has appealed to the devotees and common people that Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham are the centers of faith of crores of people. In such a situation, do not share any information or social media post without official confirmation. Hemant Dwivedi said that whether the allegations going viral are true or baseless, a clear answer will come only after the investigation is completed. Till then one should avoid reaching any conclusion.
The temple committee says that after the investigation report comes, further action will be taken on the basis of facts and if irregularities are found at any level, action will be taken against the culprits as per rules.
