₹500 crore land dispute: ₹5 crore defamation notice to Congress leader Jitu Patwari

Tezzbuzz Desk – The politics of Madhya Pradesh has heated up over the alleged government land allotment dispute worth about Rs 500 crore in Ujjain. Legal action has now started in this matter after the allegations made by Congress State President Jitu Patwari.

Defamation notice of Rs 5 crore issued

Senior advocate Harish Mehta, on behalf of Chief Minister’s Cultural Advisor and Veer Bharat Trust Secretary Shriram Tiwari, has sent a defamation notice of Rs 5 crore to Jitu Patwari.

In the press conference held in Bhopal, advocate Harish Mehta said that the allegations made by the Patwari are completely wrong, misleading and beyond the facts.

‘Veer Bharat Trust Government Institution’

The advocate clarified that Veer Bharat Trust is not a private trust, but a statutory body constituted by the Madhya Pradesh Government. It has been accused of misleading the public by calling it a private institution.

On behalf of Shriram Tiwari, it has been said that the allegations made without any concrete evidence have caused serious damage to his personal and public reputation, due to which a defamation notice has been sent.

If not apology then legal action

Advocates said that there is freedom of expression in a democracy, but it is legally wrong to tarnish someone’s image without facts. If apology is not given then further legal action will be taken.

Congress’s allegation

Earlier, in a press conference in Delhi, Jitu Patwari had alleged that government land worth about Rs 500 crore in Ujjain has been given to a trust related to the trust at a very low price.

However, Veer Bharat Trust has completely rejected all these allegations and termed them baseless. Now this matter has taken a political as well as legal turn.
