Dissatisfaction regarding the sub-health center of Krishnanagar Model Village of the district.

Shribhoomi- There is huge dissatisfaction among the local people regarding the sub-centre built under the AAGY 2022–2023 project in Adarsh Krishnanagar (Model Village) under Dargarband Gram Panchayat of Shribhoomi district of Assam, not being fully operational for a long time. Villagers allege that this health centre, built at a cost of about Rs 8.5 lakh, is incomplete due to lack of necessary basic facilities. He says that basic facilities like toilets, urinals, clean drinking water system, and suitable rooms for examining patients are not available in the centre. For this reason this health center is not being used effectively and the local people are deprived of primary health services.

According to local residents, the center is built as a small building with only one room, which does not meet the facilities required for a full-fledged sub-health center as per government standards. Villagers say that this has also affected the objective of the “Model Village” scheme. The villagers have sought intervention from Assam’s popular Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Ramakrishnanagar MLA Vijay Malakar regarding this matter.

He has appealed for an early investigation and taking necessary developmental steps. The villagers hope that with government intervention a full-fledged, standard and functional sub-health center will be established in Krishnanagar. The villagers have also demanded immediate action from the health department. He believes that if appropriate steps are taken, better, modern and effective primary health services will be available to the people of Model Village Krishnanagar.
