Heavy rain in Delhi: Delhi-Dwarka Expressway closed, waterlogging at many places including Tughlakabad.
Delhi Rains: At present, monsoon is in active mode in almost all the states of the country. Due to this, moderate to heavy rains are occurring in many states of the country. Even in the country’s national capital Delhi, monsoon has entered Delhi after a delay of 12 days. After the entry of monsoon, it is raining heavily in Delhi today. People got relief from humidity and heat due to torrential rains. On the other hand, people are also facing problems. Delhi-Dwarka Expressway had to be closed due to heavy rain. Whereas waterlogging is being seen at many places including Tughlakabad.
Here the Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert for Delhi-NCR. According to the Indian Meteorological Department i.e. IMD, rain will continue in Delhi-NCR in the coming days.
After a long wait in the capital Delhi, torrential rains started in many parts of the city from Sunday morning (July 5). This brought great relief to the people from the humid heat and high temperatures. Due to heavy rains in many areas of South and Central Delhi including Okhla Industrial Area, there was waterlogging at many places. Due to this the speed of vehicles stopped. The work of removing water by installing pumps has been started in waterlogged areas. Teams of Delhi Municipal Corporation i.e. Delhi MCD and related agencies are continuously engaged in drainage. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain continuing in Delhi for the next few days, in view of which people have been advised to remain alert.
Weather experts say that rain may continue in Delhi and surrounding areas in the coming days. In such a situation, people have been advised to follow the advice of the Meteorological Department and avoid unnecessary travel.
Waterlogging in Dwarka Expressway underpass due to rain, traffic stopped
After heavy rains in Delhi-NCR on Sunday, the underpass of Dwarka Expressway was hit by heavy waterlogging. In just half an hour of rain the underpass was completely filled with water. Due to this, the administration closed it for vehicular movement in view of security. Due to waterlogging, drivers had to face a lot of trouble.
