CM Yogi’s appeal to the youth: Make sports a part of life, appeal to parents not to suppress the talent of children.

Lucknow, 6 July. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in a letter addressed to the people of the state, has described sports as the new identity of developed Uttar Pradesh and has appealed to the youth to make sports an integral part of their daily routine and to the parents to encourage the sports talent of their children. He said that sports are not just a medium to win medals but are a strong foundation for building a healthy, disciplined and empowered society.

Referring to the recent sports achievements, the Chief Minister said that in the 65th National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championship, the men’s team of Uttar Pradesh achieved the distinction of becoming champion for the first time by winning 20 medals. At the same time, the contribution of five players from Uttar Pradesh in the Indian team that won the gold medal in the Men’s Under-18 Hockey Asia Cup held in Japan is also a matter of pride for the state. He said, “Only the one who plays blossoms.”

He said that Uttar Pradesh is now also known for its players who have proved their talent at the international level. Players like cricketer Deepti Sharma, Paralympic high jumper Praveen Kumar and javelin thrower Anu Rani have brought glory to the state. Visually impaired runner Simast Sharma was trained in Lucknow to reach the national level, while Grandmaster Vatika Agarwal is representing the country in chess.

The Chief Minister said that champions are not made in a day and sports culture also does not develop overnight. With this in mind, the state government, while making changes in sports policies, has paid special attention to the training, skill development and modern facilities of the players. He said that now various sports competitions are becoming not just competition for the youth but also an opportunity to reach international platforms like Olympics. The future of outstanding performing players is also being secured by giving them government jobs.

He said that sports grounds are being developed in every gram panchayat of the state, mini stadiums in every block and modern stadiums in every district. Major Dhyan Chand Sports University is ready in Meerut. Apart from this, sports colleges and centers of excellence will be established in each division, where players will be provided world-class training, modern facilities and expert guidance.

The Chief Minister made a special appeal to the parents and said that they should never suppress the sports talent of their children. According to him, sports is the most effective medium to keep children and youth away from social evils like drugs. Sports is the coordination of life values ​​like health, discipline, cooperation, participation, respect, struggle, dedication, positive thinking, harmony and success.

He called upon the youth to make sports an essential part of their daily routine. The Chief Minister said that sports not only provide an opportunity to make a career but also develop team spirit, leadership abilities and determination to perform better after every challenge. These qualities bring success in life and become a strong foundation for building a developed Uttar Pradesh.
