Stock Market Today: Sensex fell by 500 points, Nifty slipped below 24,250, selling in energy, auto and banking shares.
Business Desk – Stock Market Today: Weakness was seen in the domestic stock market on Tuesday. In early trading, the Sensex was seen falling by more than 500 points and trading at the level of 77,600. At the same time, Nifty also fell by about 150 points and reached the level of 24,250. Maximum selling in the market was seen in shares of energy, auto and banking sectors, due to which the major indices remained under pressure.
Which sectors are under the most pressure?
In today’s trading, investors sold the most in energy, auto and banking shares. Due to weakness in these sectors, market sentiment also remained negative. Buying was definitely seen in selected shares, but it was not enough to control the market.
Mixed business for Asian markets
Mixed signals were received from global markets. South Korea’s Kospi index was seen trading with a decline of 1.10 percent. Japan’s Nikkei remained weak by 0.73 percent. However, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was seen trading with a strength of 2.19 percent, due to which a mixed trend was seen in the Asian markets.
American markets also closed with a decline
American stock markets also closed with weakness on Monday. The Dow Jones fell 131 points (0.25 percent), while the Nasdaq lost 302 points (1.16 percent). Whereas the S&P 500 index closed with a decline of 34 points (0.45 percent). The effect of the weakness of the American market was also seen on the Indian market on Tuesday.
FII bought, DII sold
Foreign institutional investors (FII/FPI) made net purchases of shares worth Rs 393 crore on Monday. Whereas domestic institutional investors (DII) sold shares worth Rs 384 crore. FIIs’ net buying in the last 7 days has been Rs 1,680 crore, while in the last 30 days they are still net sellers worth Rs 11,819 crore. On the other hand, DII has made net purchases of Rs 53,100 crore in the last 30 days.
The market had closed with a decline even a day before.
Earlier on July 7 also the stock market had closed with weakness. Sensex fell 104 points and closed at 78,181, while Nifty fell 32 points and closed at 24,399. Investors’ alertness has increased due to the fall in the trading session for the second consecutive time.
