Yash And Kiara Advani’s ‘Tabaahi’ From Toxic Divides Internet, Fans React To Chemistry And Visuals

The makers of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups have unveiled the film’s first song, Tabaahi, featuring Yash and Kiara Advani. While the track has generated significant buzz ahead of the film’s release, it has also sparked mixed reactions online, with viewers divided over the lead pair’s chemistry, the song’s visuals and its overall presentation.

Released on July 8, Tabaahi marks the first on-screen collaboration between Yash and Kiara Advani. The romantic track showcases the two actors in a series of intimate and stylised sequences set against lavish backdrops. Composed and sung by Vishal Mishra, the Hindi version features lyrics by Raj Shekhar, while the song has also been released in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam with region-specific adaptations.

Soon after its release, clips from the music video began circulating widely across social media platforms, where viewers shared contrasting opinions. A section of users praised the song’s visual appeal, calling it grand in scale and appreciating the production design, cinematography and the chemistry between the lead actors. Several fans also lauded Vishal Mishra’s vocals and described the track as a strong addition to the film’s soundtrack.

However, not all reactions were favourable. Some social media users felt that Yash and Kiara lacked convincing chemistry despite sharing several romantic moments in the video. Others commented that the visuals appeared stylish but emotionally disconnected, with a few users describing the pairing as underwhelming. Some posts also questioned whether the film would have a compelling storyline beyond its visually rich promotional material.

The reactions to Tabaahi come just days after another promotional teaser from Toxic generated online debate. The teaser, which introduced several of the film’s female characters, drew criticism from a section of viewers who argued that it relied heavily on glamour and sensual imagery. Others, however, defended the teaser, saying it reflected the film’s stylised gangster setting and should not be judged before its release.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is one of the most anticipated Indian films of the year. Set against the backdrop of a powerful drug cartel operating in Goa, the period gangster drama features Yash in the lead alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. The film marks Kiara’s Kannada cinema debut and Yash’s first release since the KGF franchise.

The film has remained in the spotlight since its promotional campaign began, with each teaser and song generating extensive discussion online. Earlier promotional material also attracted criticism from some viewers over its portrayal of women, while others praised its ambitious scale and cinematic style.

Despite the divided opinions surrounding Tabaahi, the song has succeeded in generating substantial online engagement, with fans continuing to discuss the lead pair’s performance, the music and the film’s overall aesthetic. The makers are expected to release more promotional material in the coming weeks as the film gears up for its theatrical release.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is scheduled to hit theatres in August 2026 after multiple postponements. With the first song now out, anticipation surrounding the film continues to grow, even as social media remains divided over whether Tabaahi has lived up to expectations.
