Lucknow. Preparations are being made to extend the tenure of District Panchayat Presidents and Block Chiefs in Uttar Pradesh. A big decision may come today regarding this. If sources are to be believed, an order regarding extending the tenure of District Panchayat Presidents can be issued today. Actually, the current term is ending on Thursday.

If sources are to be believed, the tenure of District Panchayat Presidents as well as Block Chiefs can also be extended. Preparations are going on in this regard also. There is a possibility of decisions being taken simultaneously for both the posts. In such a situation, the tenure of District Panchayat Presidents and Block Chiefs can be extended for the prescribed period.
But till now no notification has been issued by the government regarding this. After the order is issued, the tenure will be considered as extension. Let us tell you that earlier the UP government had made the Pradhans administrators after the completion of their tenure. But the High Court had stayed this decision of the government.
