Illegal parking game in Kabir Nagar: Government land encroached upon, parking employee falls into drain along with car, case registered

A case of alleged illegal parking operation on government land has come to light in Kabir Nagar area of the capital Delhi. It is alleged that the parking is being run by occupying the government land adjacent to the drain of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department. A major accident took place in the same parking lot on Tuesday night, when a parking employee, while parking his car, fell into the Irrigation Department drain along with his vehicle.

Car deployed in Agriculture Ministry fell into drain

According to the information, the crashed Maruti Ciaz car belongs to a private company, which provides vehicles to the Agriculture Ministry under contract. Driver Rahil told that after duty on Tuesday night, he took the car to his home in Kabir Nagar and parked the vehicle in the nearby parking lot. He claims that he had handed over the keys of the car to the parking employee Anas.

When he reached the parking lot the next morning, he found the car badly damaged. He was told that parking employee Anas had fallen into the drain with the car. The employee suffered minor injuries in the accident, while the car was taken out with the help of a crane.

FIR registered against Anas

On Rahil’s complaint, Welcome police station has registered a case against parking employee Anas under various sections including negligent driving, endangering the life of others. The victim alleges that initially the police did not register an FIR, but the case was registered after the company representatives complained to a senior Delhi Police officer.

Allegations of encroachment on government land, refusal to compensate for the loss

The victim says that the parking operators flatly refused to compensate for the damage to the car. The estimated value of the damaged car is said to be around Rs 9 lakh. Local people allege that the parking operators painted black paint on the government board so that it could not be known that the land belonged to the Irrigation and Flood Control Department. The charge of this department is with Minister Pravesh Verma. An attempt was made to contact the Corporation’s Deputy Commissioner Mamta Yadav in the matter, but her side could not be found.
