New Delhi, July 10. The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday announced its candidates for the by-elections proposed on July 30 on two seats of Madhya Pradesh and Bihar assemblies. In this sequence, Ashutosh Tiwari has been made the candidate from Datia seat of Madhya Pradesh and Neeraj Kumar Sinha has been made the candidate from Bankipur seat of Bihar.

BJP candidate from Bankipur Abhishek Sinha withdrew his nomination just a day after filing his nomination.
Interestingly, a day before on Thursday, Abhishek Sinha ‘Bunty’ had filed nomination as BJP candidate from Bankipur seat of Central Patna. But Abhishek Sinha ‘Bunty’ unexpectedly withdrew his nomination earlier today citing family reasons. After that BJP declared a new candidate in the form of Neeraj Kumar Sinha.
Jansuraj Party founder Prashant Kishor himself in the electoral fray
This seat has become high-profile with the entry of Jansuraj Party founder Prashant Kishor into the electoral fray. Here now an interesting triangular contest has arisen between Prashant Kishor, Neeraj of BJP and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
Bankipur seat was vacant after Nitin Naveen went to Rajya Sabha.
Bankipur seat fell vacant after BJP leader and current party national president Nitin Naveen was elected to the Rajya Sabha. Former election strategist Prashant Kishore himself is contesting from this seat. Apart from him, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has fielded Rekha Gupta.
Strong influence of Kayastha and Vaishya communities in Bankipur
Bankipur is an important urban constituency, with around 4 lakh voters. It is considered politically important due to the strong influence of the Kayastha and Vaishya communities. BJP and Jan Suraj Party have campaigned vigorously. Among them, Prashant Kishore is presenting this by-election as an important ‘referendum’ on the functioning of the ruling NDA government in Bihar.
Talking about BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha, 32, despite being one of the young faces of the party, he has been associated with the party for many years. He has made his place in the party by playing different roles in the organization at the grassroots level.
