Big step of Bhagwant Mann government, 892 modern Anganwadi centers ready in Punjab, children will get facilities like private school.

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has taken a big step towards strengthening the early education and better care of children. State Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljeet Kaur said that the construction of 892 modern Anganwadi centers has been completed in the state. At the same time, 132 other centers are in the final stage and will soon be started for children.

Target to build 1024 new Anganwadi centers

Dr. Baljeet Kaur said that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has set a target of setting up a total of 1024 modern Anganwadi centers in the state. The objective of these centers is to provide a safe, modern and better learning environment to the children, so that they can get facilities like private schools. He said that lack of funds will not be allowed to come in the way of any development work related to the future of children.

Special emphasis on all-round development of children

The Minister said that every child, irrespective of economic class, should have equal rights to good education, sports and safe environment. He believes that children are the biggest capital of the country and it is the priority of the government to create a strong foundation for their better development.

He said that the new Anganwadi centers have been designed in such a way that children can learn and develop their skills while playing.

Will also help in fighting malnutrition

According to Dr. Baljeet Kaur, these Anganwadi centers are not just buildings, but are the foundation of a better future for the children of rural and needy families. Through these centres, children’s health, prevention of malnutrition and physical and mental development will also be promoted.

The centers will be equipped with modern facilities

The government has earmarked an amount of Rs 10 lakh under Mission Saksham for the construction and facilities of each Anganwadi centre. Safe drinking water, modern toilets, adequate seating arrangements, child-friendly classes and activity-based learning facilities are being provided in these centres.

Government reiterated its commitment

Dr. Baljeet Kaur said that the Punjab Government is committed to continuously strengthening quality early childhood education and care. The aim of the government is that every child of the state should receive education in a safe environment and move forward as a healthy, confident and capable citizen.
