Amit Shah’s big action: Those infiltrating through sea route are no longer safe
The Modi government has made preparations like ‘surgical strike’ against the conspiracies of infiltration through India’s maritime borders and spoiling the demography of the country. The Central Government is now going to implement such an action plan, by which every nefarious act of the enemy country will be buried on the way to the sea. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Ports, Shipping and Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal have recently given strict instructions regarding security in a high-level meeting.
India’s ports will turn into impenetrable forts
To make the coastal security of the country completely impenetrable, the government is constituting ‘Bureau of Port Security’ (BoPS). Top officials like Home Secretary, IB Director and CISF Director General attended this meeting. Amit Shah has said in a clear tone that playing with the country’s security will not be tolerated at any cost. Now all the ports of India will be kept in such a security circle that it will be impossible for any enemy to penetrate.
Recourse to ‘Merchant Shipping Act’ for security
The government is making BoPS a powerful statutory body under Section 13 of the Merchant Shipping Act 2025. This bureau will directly monitor the security of ships and ports. As per the instructions of the Home Minister, a digital database of every soldier deployed in it will be prepared. Besides, these security personnel will also be given special training in modern cyber security and new technologies, so that the IT systems of the ports can be protected from hacking or digital attacks.
CISF will have ‘trial run’
CISF has been given a special responsibility to make the security of ports of international standard. ‘Live trials’ of security will be conducted at sensitive ports like Visakhapatnam, Jawaharlal Nehru Port and Mundra Port. Amit Shah has also asked to ensure that only those private security agencies whose personnel have received rigorous training from CISF will get work at the ports. Instructions have been given to make the container scanning system there also top class.
‘Nabhamitra’ and coastal police guard for fishermen
To strengthen last mile maritime security, the government has also focused on fishing harbors and fish landing centres. For the safety and convenience of sailors and fishermen, emphasis is being laid on the use of ‘Nabhamitra’ app developed by ISRO. Apart from this, the District Administration and Superintendents of Police have been ordered to deploy permanent police forces at the fish landing centers of their respective areas, so that all routes of infiltration through sea can be closed forever.
